Facial wrinkles and lines can be reduced with cosmetic injections. The two main types of injectable substances used are botulinum toxin type A (which relaxes the facial muscles that cause the lines) and dermal fillers (which smooth out wrinkles.)

Botulinum Type A
Botulinum type A reduces the muscles ability to cause unsightly wrinkles caused by normal facial expressions, such as forehead lines, lines between the brows, crowsfeet, lip lines and gummy smile. The effects on the muscle and its movement are temporary lasting 3-4 months.

Dermal Filler
Dermal filler is a minimally invasive procedure. Fillers add volume where volume has been lost such as in thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, smooth wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars. Lasting results are typically 6-9 months and in some cases up to 2 years.
